Chakkakuru chathachu varuthath

Chakkakuru chathachu varuthath, Jackfruit seeds roasted after crushed, its a special and tasty dish.


  • Jackfruit seeds – 20 seeds
  • shallots- 8 to 10 nos
  • Red chilli – 4 nos
  • Garlic -4 to 5 cloves
  • Salt : needed
  • Oil – For deep fry
  • Curry leaves- few


Peel off the  Jackfruit seeds and soak for 20 minutes in water. Then each one into 4 pieces.
Using mixer crush the jackfruit seeds, not paste, need crushed seeds. Keep it aside.
Then crush shallots, red chilies, garlic, and curry leaves in mixer. Mix this with crushed  jackfruit seeds. Add 1/2 tbs of salt in this mixture and mix well.

In a pan Pour oil for deep frying(3/4 th of amount of crushed mixture), once become hot, add crushed mixture. Stir well. Stir in regular interval until it  turns it color to golden brown and it becomes crispy.

In last stage, oil will come out of this jackfruit seeds. Then off the flame and serve into a plate.

Once cooled it become more crispy.

It’s a tasty and variety jackfruit dish, serve with rice.
