Poori

Ingredients: 

  • Wheat flour/atta – 500gm
  • Maida – 200 gm (optional)
  • Oil(or ghee)   – 3tbsp
  • Water – 1/4 cup
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp
  • Atta flour – for rolling the chapathi

Oil  – for deep frying

Instructions:

In a bowl add the flour/atta, maida oil (or ghee) & salt.Mix it well using water (sprinkle water in small quantity). Make a soft,non-sticky dough.  Keep it aside for minimum 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes make lemon sized balls using dough.

Take one ball, roll out the ball into a uniform circle, not too much thin, need little bit thick for the poori.You can use any mold ( lid of a tin or vessel ) to make the uniform circle after rolling out.

Sprinkle Atta flour for roll out the balls.Roll out all the bolls like this.

Pour oil into a pan for deep frying.

Once hot the oil deep fry the pooris, cook both sides using a ladle.

Serve Poori ( puri ) with potato masala.
