- Vermicelli(Semiya) : 200 gm
- Milk : 1 litter
- Sugar : 1/2 kg (or as required)
- Cardamom : 10 nos ( crush it well)
- Ghee : as required.
- Butter: 2 tbs ( if milk maid use half tin)
- Cashew nuts : 10 nos
- Raisins : 10 nos
- water: as required
In a pan roast the Vermicelli until it turns it color to light brown. Then keep it aside for cool.
Then in the pan add 2 tbs of ghee , roast the cashews and raisins in the ghee.
Boil milk and 1 cup water. Then add Vermicelli into it. stir continuously. stir for 10 to 12 minutes, up to which it cook well. Then add sugar. Mix it well and cook for 3 minutes. After add cardamom powder and butter( or milk maid). Mix it well. Finally add roasted cashews and raisins.
Serve with hot. Payasam will be thicker as it cools. so add milk and adjust the thickness before serve..
