Tomato curry ( Thakkaali curry)

For 4 person

Ingredients:

  • Tomato: 5 nos
  • Onions : 1/2 medium sized onion chopped into small pieces.( or 1 small).
  • Green chilies: 2 nos
  • Garlic: 3 nos ( chop into small pieces )
  • Ginger  : 50 gm (chop into small pieces)
  • Curry leaves : 2 stems
  • Green chilies : 1
  • Mustard: 1 tbs
  • Turmeric powder: 1/2 tbs
  • Red chili powder : 1/2 tbs  ( if  kashmiri  Red chili powder: 1 tbs)
  • Salt : 1/2 to 3/4 tbs
  • oil: as needed
  • water: 1/4 medium sized cup

Preparation:

Clean the Tomatoes and cut into small pieces.

In a pan add two tbs of oil. once become hot, splutter the mustard seeds. Then add green chili pieces, Ginger , garlic paste and curry leaves. Stir it well, add chopped onion and green chili pieces.

Saute until onion turns it color slightly. Then add tomato pieces into it. Add 1/2 tbs salt , 1 tbs red chili powder and 1/2 turmeric powder. Stir it well and add 1/4 cup of water. cook for 5 to 10 minutes.

Once it is cooked well, Off the flame and serve it hot.

Simple tomato curry ready. Best combination with rice and chapati.
